In this Quick Look, we’re highlighting DanceSteps. The developer describes DanceSteps as follows: DanceSteps allows you to experiment with and finally learn the basic steps of a dance by using your iPhone or iPod Touch. It achieves this with a very simple user interface and with provided high quality rhythm-tunes that can help you learn the steps even easier.

“Thanks to the exceptionally simple interface, males need only hold the device in the default position, while females simply need to rotate the device upside down to view their footsteps (marked in red) from their perspective.  And, if you happen to be practicing with a partner, even better! “

DanceSteps!

This iPhone/iPod Touch application, not only helps someone to learn the basic steps of a dance, but also gives you tips about the body position and the exact time that feet should move regarding the rhythm of the dance. For now, it includes 5 well known rhythms: Samba, Rumba, Salsa, Waltz and Cha cha. More are on the way!

Having been born with at least two left feet, the current craze for dance - jazz, tap, ballroom, on ice and no doubt in many other styles - has passed us by. No more. Thanks to DanceSteps we now have the opportunity to master salsa, rumba, samba and waltz, with more to follow.

Spring is in the air and we all know what that means: wedding season! All over the globe brides and grooms to be are sweating over their first dance, that, usually, extremely awkward moment where the newlyweds have to hobble along to an inappropriately sappy song under the scrutiny of all their assorted loved ones. If only they’d practiced… But who has time to take classes? Well, with this new app, you won’t need to take classes, you don’t even have to be on the same continent to practice!
